Christie Kerr

Tap, Musical Theatre, Leaps and Turns , Basic Jazz

 

A graduate The University of Michigan, Christie holds a B.F.A. Degree in Musical Theatre Performance.  A native of Littleton, Colorado, she has worked throughout the United States as a performer, choreographer, teacher and director.  Christie is currently an adjunct professor at Columbia College, teaching in the Musical Theatre Department.  She has had extensive teaching experience at various studios working with children and adults of all ages.  Choreography/Directing credits include: the premiere of GENE KELLY -a new musical, the International Thespian Festival’s production of THROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (National Youth Theatre Award-Best Choreography), CRAZY FOR YOU, HONK! (Zoni Award nominee-Best Choreography), WEST SIDE STORY, HAIRSPRAY & 42nd STREET to name a few.  Christie choreographs & directs for professional theatres and area high schools to include: Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, Porchlight Music Theatre, Bohemian Theatre Ensemble, Bailiwick Theatre, Prather Entertainment Group, Little Theatre on the Square, Columbia College, New Trier High School, Glenbrook North High School and Hinsdale Central High School.  Christie has also worked for many years as a performer.   Favorite performances include: Tess/Patsy in CRAZY FOR YOU, Anytime Annie/ Lorraine in 42ND STREET, Lucy in SNOOPY!!! & Millie in A CHRISTMAS CAROL (National Tour.)
