Missy Mallinson
Modern
Melissa Mallinson has been performing, choreographing, and teaching in Chicago since 2002. A graduate of the University of Michigan dance program (summa cum laude), she has also studied at the London Contemporary Dance School and Yorkshire Ballet Seminars. She is certified in Mat and Standing Pilates through the Physical Mind Institute. A former soloist with the Kalamazoo Ballet, Melissa has performed with many companies and independent artists throughout Chicago and the Midwest, including Khecari Dance Theater, Ann Arbor Dance Works, and Marquez Dance Project, and as a guest artist with Cie Felix Ruckert and David Dorfman Dance. Her choreography has been produced by many venues and festivals including Dance Chicago, Edinburgh International Festival Fringe, Ohio Dance Festival, and City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. Melissa is also artistic director of ology dance, and co-founder and producer of the Harvest Chicago Contemporary Dance Festival.
