Rebecca Sparks (Lima, Peru) began her training in Dayton, Ohio, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from Wright State University. During her college years she was a member of Dayton Contemporary Dance Second Company (DCDC2), and spent her senior year as an apprentice for the main company, DCDC. Upon graduating, she danced with DCDC for seven years, under the direction of Kevin Ward and subsequently Debbie Blunden-Diggs. At DCDC, she had the honor to work with acclaimed choreographers Donald Byrd, Ronald K. Brown, Rennie Harris, Eleo Pomare and Dianne McIntyre, among others. Additionally, she was the recipient of the Josie Award for Outstanding Female Dancer of the Year in 2012. Rebecca is currently performing with Piel Morena Dance Company (PMCD).
She has taught throughout the Dayton area and served as director for DCDC2 last year. She is beyond excited to make Chicago her home and be teaching at Lincolnshire Academy of Dance.
