She also had the honor of performing and working with guest artists Gabrielle Lamb, Rebecca Bryant and Enid Smith. Maya has been a member of the University Dance Company from Fall 2018 to Spring 2022. She has performed in various original works choreographed by KU faculty, students as well as guest artists. She also served as the University Dance Company President her senior year at KU. Additionally, she was an undergraduate fellow with the Spencer Museum of Art, conducting research under Dr. James Moreno as well as choreographed for KU Theater’s production of Indecent, working with Dr. Henry Bial. This past year, Maya co-created KU’s first ever tap dance company, Jayhawk Tap Co., where she co-choregraphed their debut performance in Spring of 2022. Upon graduation, Maya will be a part of the Work Study Program at Visceral Dance in Chicago and is looking to pursue a future career in dance/movement therapy.

Maya is thrilled to share her love and passion of dance with LAD and work with her students to develop their technique, build their self-confidence, and encourage their artistic expression.
