Abby Farahmandpour is a senior at Stevenson High School and has been dancing since she was 4. She has been a student at LAD for over 10 years and is extremely grateful for the community LAD has provided her. She is also entering her 6th season with the LAD ensemble. Abby is trained in all styles of dance including musical theatre, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, pointe, modern and ballet. Abby especially values her training in ballet because she believes it is an essential part of a dancer’s foundation, and has helped her progress in many other styles. Abby has assisted a dance class at LAD and has also subbed for teachers during the year. Abby is beyond excited to be teaching her own ballet class this upcoming year. She is looking forward to fostering the same love for dance in her students that she found when she was young. Abby hopes to continue to dance in college next fall because it is a large part of her identity. Lastly, she loves dance because it is an expressive outlet.
