Annie Jo (she,her) is a Chicago-based teaching artist, director/choreographer, IDA adjudicator, and member of Actor’s Equity. She started her training in Fond du Lac, WI and continued on to the Peck School of the Arts at UWM for her BFA in Dance, influenced greatly by the late Ed Burgess. She has studied with the Jump Rhythm Jazz Project of Chicago, performed professionally at The Marriott, Drury Lane, Paramount, Ordway, and Fireside Theaters, traveled with the Honey Taps, and choreographed 100+ musicals on various nationwide stages. Recent credits: White Christmas (Paramount Theatre), Ride the Cyclone at The Contemporary (Columbus), the regional premiere of Diary of a Wimpy Kid at Columbus Children’s Theatre and Cinderella at Drury Lane. Currently AJ is an adjunct professor for the Chicago College of Performing Arts (Roosevelt University) and Visceral Dance Chicago.
Annie Jo is a high energy artist who believes that a bold, polished, engaging creation is best achieved through a collaborative, committed and supported environment and process. Annie Jo continues to teach, create and adjudicate at studios, universities, competitions, conventions and in guest artist workshops across the country – specializing in tap and musical theatre. She loves her LAD family and working alongside mentor and friend, Brenda.
