Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT)

Progressing Ballet Technique is a method of teaching that incorporates the use of different equipment, such as exercise balls and therabands, to build a foundation of muscle memory that enhances precision, coordination, and fluidity. PBT also provides injury prevention with exercises designed to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and enhance body awareness. This class will help dancers reduce injury risk, enhance their confidence and improve their ballet technique. PBT helps to isolate specific muscle groups to teach dancers how to properly engage the right muscles which allows for improved alignment, enhanced balance, and better control.’

The students will need a big exercise ball appropriate for their size, a 10 foot theraband, and a small fusion ball. A yoga mat isn’t necessary but they could bring one if they find laying on the floor uncomfortable.

Choosing the right Exercise Ball size:

Small: 105 cm – 135 cm (3′ 5″ – 4′ 5″)
Medium: 136 cm – 165 cm (4′ 5″ – 5′ 5″)
Large: 165 cm+ (5′ 5″+)
